Key Features of the ZMDM-37SM Connector

Overview: The ZMDM-37SM MicroCAT is a high-accuracy conductivity, temperature, and optional pressure recorder designed for long-duration deployments on moorings.
Key components include an integrated Inductive Modem (IM) interface, internal batteries, memory, and optional features like a pump and an optical dissolved oxygen sensor.
Data is recorded in memory and can be transmitted via inductive modem telemetry when polled.
Memory capacity exceeds 530,000 samples, allowing for extended deployments.
Conductivity and Temperature: The ZMDM-37SM records both conductivity and temperature. It utilizes proven sensors similar to those used in SeaCAT and SeaCAT Plus products.
Optional Pressure Sensor: An optional strain-gauge pressure sensor is available in various ranges (from 0 - 20 meters to 0 - 7000 meters). Compensation for temperature influence on pressure is performed by the MicroCAT’s CPU.
Internal-Field Conductivity Cell: The unique design allows for the use of expendable anti-foulant devices, providing bio-fouling protection.
Memory and Data Output: Non-volatile FLASH memory stores data.
Calibration coefficients stored in EEPROM allow output in engineering units (ASCII format or XML).
Raw data output is also available.
Communication Interface: Standard RS-232 interface for data upload at speeds up to 115.2K baud.
Real-time data transmission up to 1600 meters (5200 feet) at 600 baud.
Optional RS-485 interface for multiple MicroCATs sharing a common 2-wire cable.
Operating Modes: Autonomous Sampling: Pre-programmed intervals (ranging from 6 seconds to 6 hours) or continuous sampling (1.0 second without pressure, 1.5 seconds with pressure).
Salinity and Sound Velocity Calculation (Chen-Millero): Optional output.
Firmware Upgrades: Can be downloaded through the communications port without opening the instrument.
Applications: Ideal for oceanographic research, environmental monitoring, and moored deployments.
